Lars did his first dive in Mafia Island in 1986 at the age of 16 and after travelling and diving around the world he is now back where it all began. This time with the opportunity of offering customers and friends the best diving ever meanwhile having a beautiful and relaxing stay in Mafia Island.

The best dive location in Tanzania is undoubtedly Mafia Island.
Almost all of Mafias best diving is at depths of less than 30 meters, so it´s a sport diver´s paradise and doesn’t require lots of experience to be dived. You will find fringing reefs, rock walls as well as both hard and soft corals. There are examples of Giant table corals, Whip corals, Delicate Seafans and Blue-tipped Staghorn Corals. Large fish as Potato groupers, Barracudas, Giant morays, Rays and turtles are common and also sharks when you have a lucky day.
SWIMMING WITH WHALE SHARKS
Whale Sharks stay in the waters around Mafia Island almost all year around. They are huge, up to 12 meters long. Despite its size, the whale shark is friendly and does not pose danger to humans. The whale shark is a filter feeder — one of only three known filter feeding shark species. It feeds mainly on macro-algae, plankton and krill.
Through our local contacts we arrange trips on Mafia Island to swim and snorkel with the whale sharks. It is not rare to be able to meet 6 to 8 of these wonderful animals at one time and it is a once of a lifetime experience that you will never ever forget.
